Copiague Appoints Coordinator Of Secondary Guidance

Lauren D’Annunzio has been appointed as coordinator of secondary guidance and work-based learning for the Copiague School District, effective Sept. 15, bringing extensive experience in school counseling, educational leadership and career readiness to the new role.
Ms. D’Annunzio has served as the chairperson for home instruction and secondary guidance at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School and Copiague Middle School since November 2023. In that role, she provided leadership and oversight for the district’s secondary guidance program, supporting counselors in delivering academic, college and career, and social-emotional services to students.
Ms. D’Annunzio holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from St. John’s University. She also holds a master’s degree in school counseling from St. John’s University. She has earned an Advanced Certificate in Coordinator of Work-Based Learning from Hofstra University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from The College of Saint Rose.
Her certifications include School District Leader, School Building Leader and School Counselor, as well as the Coordinator of Work-Based Learning Programs Extension.
“As coordinator of secondary guidance and work-based learning, I will continue to support the district’s efforts to strengthen college and career readiness, expand work-based learning opportunities and provide students with meaningful pathways toward their postsecondary goals,” Ms. D’Annunzio said.
