All students in the Copiague school district receive instruction in art and music, with various opportunities to participate in theater and dance at the elementary and secondary levels. The arts curriculum is aligned with The New York State Learning Standards for The Arts and the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards. From the earliest grades, students experience skill development in visual, musical and physical expression.
Annual art exhibits, theater productions, dance performances, band, choir and various concert groups demonstrate a tradition of excellence in the arts. Community members are invited to attend any of our cultural arts events.
We are proud to be recognized annually by numerous awards and recognition at the local and state level.
The visual arts program at Copiague is rooted in the fundamental belief that students learn best in a participative and creative environment.
Our music program is driven by the belief that students will flourish when actively engaged in creating, performing, and analyzing musical works.
