Copiague Celebrates Full Circle Connection

On June 8, Copiague School District hosted its first Crayons to Caps event, bringing together members of the Class of 2026 and the youngest members of the school community for a day filled with connection, reflection and celebration.
Graduating seniors were paired with kindergarten students for a special day of activities that celebrated the beginning and end of their school journeys. The pairs worked together through a variety of fun team-building activities, including parachute games, relay races, cup stacking and the chicken noodle game.
The event also allowed students to reflect on their growth and imagine the future. Kindergartners from the Class of 2038 created posters showcasing their big dreams and illustrated what they imagined they would look like as high school students. Seniors created their own posters reflecting on their kindergarten selves and the journey they have taken throughout their years in the district.
The celebration concluded with a special poster parade and walk, as seniors and kindergartners proudly shared their creations and celebrated the connection between the youngest and oldest students in the district. The day served as a meaningful reminder of the full circle of education, honoring the memories made, the milestones achieved and the dreams still ahead.
