Patriotism And Pride At Great Neck Road’s Veterans Breakfast

In recognition of Veterans Day and to honor the veterans within the community and connected to the school district, Great Neck Road Elementary School hosted a ceremonial breakfast on Nov. 7 in the school’s gymnasium.
The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The gymnasium was decorated with students’ writing and artwork, including acrostic poems, a Wall of Honor and patriotic displays dedicated to local heroes.
Dressed in red, white and blue, students, staff, administrators and members of the Board of Education warmly welcomed invited guests to the celebration. Principal Tamika Eason opened the ceremony by expressing gratitude to all veterans for their service and sacrifice.
Kindergartners proudly waved their flags during a parade and performed two patriotic songs, filling the room with spirit and pride. The school chorus also contributed to the musical celebration, with fourth and fifth graders reciting original patriotic acrostic poetry written in honor of the occasion. The event was a reminder of the importance of recognizing and thanking those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.
