Fourth Grade Field Trip Focuses On Adaptations

To further their study on biology and adaptations, fourth graders at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School recently visited the Cold Spring Harbor Hatchery and Aquarium. During their visit, students learned about different adaptations of various fish, reptiles and amphibians. When they returned to school, students used the knowledge they learned to design their own fish and chose four adaptations based on shape, reproduction, coloration and mouth for feeding. Students then brought their designs to life by drawing their unique fish based on these characteristics.
