On March 13, students from Copiague Middle School participated in the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Six students earned awards at the competition. Congratulations to the following honorees: Isabella Rufrano, “Here Comes the Bloom,” first place; Lenna Karwowska, “The Race of the Bioplastics,” first place; Mya Nunez, “Different Compost, Different Results,” third place; Emilio Reyes, “Sports Drink Showdown,” second place; Nicolette Orlando, “UV Rays: Lotion vs. Sprays,” second place; and Rebecca Molina, “Catching Fire,” honorable mention.
