Deauville Gardens West Elementary School participated in the Great Kindness Challenge from Feb. 10-14. The week kicked off with students and staff wearing their school gear to show their spirit.
As part of the challenge, each student colored their own handprint to highlight how they can lift each other up by being kind. Their work was then added to the bulletin board in the main hallway. Students also wrote cards featuring words of kindness, encouragement and thanks to community workers and residents of a local nursing home. To complete the challenge, students and staff wore purple on Feb. 14 in celebration of P.S. I Love You Day and tallied how many acts of kindness they completed throughout the week.
