DGW First Grade Lessons Tie Into Books

First graders at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School are reading books and taking their lessons one step further. After learning more about winter, students in Katianne Howe’s class created their own books about the season. Marissa Krause’s class read all about Lunar New Year and explored the traditions associated with the holiday. In celebration, they created their own colorful lanterns to display. Students in Kate Castellano’s class recently read about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his work to make the world a better place. They then created a bulletin board and noted the different ways they could lend a hand and be a good friend.
