On Jan. 10, the Copiague athletic department, along with the Payton family, hosted the second annual Carmyne Payton Classic. The Copiague boys varsity basketball team took on the Smithtown East Bulls. All proceeds from the game went to the Carmyne Payton Scholarship Fund, which is awarded to a deserving senior on both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams during Senior Awards Night. The event was a wonderful show of support for the family.
