Third graders in Diana Daniels’ class at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School are getting a head start on their writing for the Town of Babylon’s Veterans Day essay contest. The students learned how veterans have served their country, creating circle and tree maps to describe their qualities. They then wrote an essay discussing a particular veteran they admire and colored American flags to go along with their story. The top essays in each class will be submitted to the Town of Babylon for their annual contest for grades three, four and five.
