Third graders in Ann Marie Byrnes’ class at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School recently completed one of their first writing pieces of the school year. Students reviewed “The Best Part of Me” by Wendy Ewald, a photography book that focuses on self-esteem and kids’ favorite parts of themselves. After a discussion on the similarities and differences with one another, individually, the students connected to the text by identifying a favorite part of themselves and explaining their choice in writing.
