Cup Challenge Sparks Creativity
As part of a recent teambuilding activity, fourth graders at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School learned the true meaning of cooperation.
The fourth graders were given instructions for six challenges that included red cups and a rubber band with strings attached. Working in small groups, the students were tasked with creating the different structures pictured in each of the challenges. The only rule: no hands allowed.
Students had to communicate, problem solve, showcase creativity and collaborate to successfully complete the challenge. To reinforce the cooperation theme, they worked together to formulate a plan before each attempt. As a bonus, the group who finished first created their own challenge.
