Copiague School District, in a partnership with Island Harvest Food Bank, worked together for the betterment of their community by working with volunteers during two food donation events in May.

During the first distribution on May 6, Copiague School District and Island Harvest volunteers worked together to distribute five pallets of frozen meat to the members of the community, helping more than 200 people.

According to Karen Sheridan, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services who worked to coordinate the event, since the first distribution was so successful, Copiague School District and Island Harvest scheduled a second distribution on May 22. This time, there were 15 pallets of food and frozen meats delivered to more than 250 people.
