Egg Experiment Examines Earth’s Layers

MAIN(67).png thumbnail255272
Fourth grade students at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School have been learning about the earth’s structure with the help of a hard-boiled egg. They recently participated in a hands-on experiment by using a hard-boiled egg to model each layer of the earth. The shell, the egg white and the yolk were all closely examined to resemble the crust, the mantle and the core. Students discussed their observations of the different layers and characteristics of each layer of the earth with one another and then reflected on their learning.
