As part of their English language arts lessons, students in Ms. Antz’s third grade class at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School participated in a book club. Students cohort into different groups to read various fiction and nonfiction texts. Students are offered four different book choices based on their interests. Students collectively look at central ideas in the book and use their critical thinking skills to create questions. This project-based learning activity also incorporates technology into the mix as students created Flip Grids to give book reviews to their classmates.
