The first graders at Great Neck Road Elementary School showed off their creative sides this November with two different projects tied to recent stories they read in class. The classes read, “Turkey Trouble,” and were tasked with creating a disguise for their turkeys, so they won’t be served at Thanksgiving dinner. Students worked on their turkeys at home with their families and then shared their disguised birds with their class during a writing assignment. The first graders also read, “Leaf Man,” and created their own fun characters out of leaves.
