Copiague Administrator Assumes New Role

Copiague School District has named Karla Cangelosi as executive director for instructional support. Ms. Cangelosi, who previously served as principal of Great Neck Road Elementary School since 2015, officially assumed the position on Aug. 16.

Ms. Cangelosi has been a part of the Copiague School District since 1999, first as an elementary teacher at Great Neck Road then transitioning to a reading teacher in 2006 and finally assistant principal in 2011.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dowling College and a master’s degree from LIU Post. Ms. Cangelosi also has an educational leadership certification from Stony Brook University.

“It has been an honor to spend my career within Copiague School District,” Ms. Cangelosi said. “The students, faculty, staff and community are amazing, and it is a fabulous place to work. I am so excited to begin my new position and chapter in Copiague as the executive director for instructional support. I am looking forward to building more relationships throughout the community. In addition, I am eager to  learn and grow from all of the professionals in the district.”
