Author Visits Virtually to Discuss Biographies thumbnail181849
Students in Nicole Giannini’s fifth grade class at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School are learning about biographies. On March 18, the students had a virtual author visit from Karlin Gray, who has written books such as “Nadia: The Girl Who Couldn’t Sit Still,” “An Extraordinary Ordinary Moth,” “Serena: The Littlest Sister,” and “Anne and her Tower of Giraffes.” Gray shared her book “Serena: The Littlest Sister” about tennis player Serena Williams during a read-aloud. Gray also discussed biographies and answered questions about research, writing and publishing. Students were able to purchase personalized and autographed copies of Gray’s books prior to the event.
