Seventh graders in Stephen DiGiorgio’s robotics class at Copiague Middle School are using their hands-on technology skills to build their own kites. The students are participating in the “Go Fly a Kite” contest sponsored by the Town of Babylon. Babylon area schools were invited to participate in the event. This year’s contest, themed “America the Beautiful,” will take place on April 10 at Cedar Beach. Students are using wooden dowels and their STEAM skills to create the kites, which will then compete in categories such as most creative, most unusual and funniest design.
