In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month in September, Dr. Pino’s kindergarten class at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School read and learned about Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. They celebrated her individuality as well as their own. Many of the students in the class came to the United States from all different countries and are part of multiple cultures. To culminate the lesson, each kindergartner created one piece of a masterpiece. All the individual pieces came together to make something beautiful.
