Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
In order to ensure that all of our students have the opportunity to take their New York State Regents examinations and final examinations safely and without disruption, we have decided to implement additional proactive safety measures.
Locker clean out will begin on Monday, June 2, 2025. Students will no longer have access to lockers after Friday, June 6, 2025. All student lockers (hallway and gym) must be cleaned out by the end of the school day on Friday, June 6th. The combination on all locks will be turned over by our custodial staff at the end of the day. Unwanted items left in lockers will be removed by our custodians and the lock secured. Remember you will not have access to any school lockers after Friday, June 6th. Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School will assume no responsibility for textbooks and personal items left in lockers. It is your responsibility to plan accordingly!
On Regents testing days, students arriving for examinations will enter through one door under the direct supervision of staff. We will employ a full security staff in and around the building. Students not scheduled for an examination will not be admitted into the building during testing for any reason. Students will only be permitted to enter the building with the writing materials necessary for their exams and any school issued materials to be returned on the day of the test. Students may not enter the testing site with outer garments, cell phones, book bags, backpacks, pocketbooks, electronic devices, or any other non-test related items. These items be held by security until the student exits the testing location. Please note that the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School is not responsible for any of these items.
Your assistance in helping us properly prepare for these crucial final and Regent examinations will set the academic tone necessary during these important last days of school. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at (631) 842-4010.
Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation and best wishes for an enjoyable summer season.
Sincerely,
Joseph M. Agosta
Principal
