Copiague Community Comes Together To Honor Class Of 2026

The Copiague School District and community came together on June 11 to celebrate the accomplishments, dedication and bright futures of the Class of 2026 during the annual Senior Awards Night.
Joined by administrators, staff members, Board of Education representatives, family, friends and community members, graduating seniors were recognized for their achievements and presented with scholarships and awards from generous members of the school and local community.
Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Principal Joseph Agosta welcomed students and guests to the ceremony and applauded the seniors for their hard work, perseverance and growth throughout their years in the district. “You all have immense talent and potential, and I have no doubt that you will continue to accomplish great things in the years to come,” he shared. “In this next chapter of your lives, remember the values and lessons you have learned during your time here. Continue to pursue your passions, embrace new challenges, and never, ever lose sight of your dreams. You can achieve anything that you set your mind to, and tonight is just the beginning of an incredible journey that lies ahead.”
Mr. Agosta also recognized the many individuals who have supported the students throughout their educational careers, expressing gratitude to families, friends, educators and the entire Copiague School District community for their continued encouragement and guidance.
During the ceremony, seniors received more than $100,000 in local, memorial and organizational scholarships, providing support as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their academic and personal journeys.
The evening concluded with a special recognition of the Top 10 students in the Class of 2026, honoring their outstanding academic achievements and commitment to excellence. The district congratulates all members of the Class of 2026 and wishes them continued success as they pursue their future goals.
