Leadership Students Share Gratitude Lessons

Throughout November, the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Leadership class has been visiting kindergarten and first grade classrooms throughout the district to read stories about giving thanks. After sharing a Thanksgiving-themed book, the high school students lead discussions on gratitude and help the younger students color and decorate their own turkeys. Through these collaborative sessions, the Leadership students hope to inspire meaningful conversations with the kindergartners and first graders about thankfulness ahead of the holiday season.
