Copiague Middle School Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week celebrations filled Copiague Middle School beginning Oct. 20, as students and staff came together to promote healthy living. In preparation for the event, members of the Spirit Club tied red ribbons along the front fence of the school to raise awareness about the importance of living drug free. Students also created ribbons for teachers to display on their classroom doors as a symbol of the school’s shared commitment to making healthy choices.
Throughout the weeklong celebration, daily announcements reinforced the message of Red Ribbon Week, encouraging students to make healthy choices and educating them about the impact of drugs on teens.
On Oct. 23, students and staff wore red to show their support for a drug-free lifestyle. During lunch periods, students signed pledges on a red ribbon, reinforcing their commitment. The ribbons are now on display in the hallway outside the cafeteria.
