First graders at Great Neck Road Elementary School invited the special women in their lives to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 8. The first graders greeted their invited guests upon arrival and escorted them to the classroom.

In their respective classrooms, students performed Mother’s Day songs and presented poetry and gifts crafted especially for their guests. Students spoke about why they love their mother and what makes her so special. Showing appreciation for all their mothers do for them, first graders presented them with a flower before sharing a snack together
