Copiague Junior Honored With Citizenship Award

Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School junior Sophia Ramos has received the New York State Retired School Administrators and Supervisors Citizenship Award. According to her guidance counselor Colleen Darge, Ramos was nominated for this award because she exemplifies the qualities of being a good citizen, shows compassion and is dedicated to both the school and broader community. She consistently goes above and beyond to support those around her, whether through leadership, volunteer efforts or daily interactions with peers. Ramos is pictured with Walter G.
