Deauville Gardens East Elementary School recently celebrated “Start with Hello Week” with a spirit week. Each day was set up with a special theme to build a connected and inclusive community within the building. The spirit week kicked off on Monday with all students encouraged to wear red. Each student received a name tag and said hello to everyone they saw. Tuesday was “Teamwork Tuesday” as students wore sports gear and used cooperation words. Wednesday was “Compliment Wednesday.” Everyone was encouraged to wear yellow and give compliments throughout the day. Thursday was “Thank You Thursday” as a reminder to say thank you. Friday closed out the week with a Copiague spirit day and “Make a New Friend Friday” where students spent the day waving hello to new friends.
