On Feb. 2, two students from Deauville Gardens East Elementary School – Nicholas Newman and Liam Callaghan – and two students from Deauville Gardens West Elementary School – Jayden Jimenez and Aryana Matusewicz – attended the Suffolk County Music Educator Association’s Day of Percussion clinic with band director KaraAnn Leone at Sagamore Middle School in the Sachem Central School District. Students played with other percussionists from participating districts, and attended sessions with percussion specialists where they played a variety of instruments in many styles.
