As part of a social studies lesson, senior students at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School were visited by Town of Babylon officials for insight into local government and policies on Oct. 5. Town Councilman DuWayne Gregory and Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg spoke out their own personal journeys, civic engagement, the importance of being involved in the local community and voting. The officials took time for a question-and-answer session and spoke to students about local internship opportunities.
