Fifth grade students in Ms. Hill’s art class at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School recently designed pinch pot creatures. Students are using their knowledge of the pinch pot technique from fourth grade and building upon it by turning pinch pots into creatures and animals. Students are focusing on how to properly attach a piece of clay to their pots using the slip and score technique. The fifth graders are also using tools to create texture on their pieces. After the clay is dry, the students will paint their sculptures.
