Copiague School District has named two new administrators this July. Dr. Jonathan Krawchuk has been named the district’s executive director of technology, data and assessment, and Devon Ray joins the district in a new position as the coordinator of athletics.
Dr. Krawchuk has been with the Copiague School District since 2006. He most recently served as an assistant principal at Copiague Middle School. Prior to that, he was an assistant principal at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School. Before taking on administrative roles, Dr. Krawchuk was a living environment teacher and a special education teacher.
Dr. Krawchuk has a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph’s College and a master’s degree from SUNY Stony Brook. He received his doctorate in instructional leadership from St. John’s University.
Mr. Ray joins the Copiague School District from the Department of Education in Queens, where he worked as a physical education/health teacher since 2016. Mr. Ray also served as the athletic director at the Success Academy Charter School in the Bronx. He has also held various coaching positions with boys and girls varsity basketball and volleyball.
Mr. Ray holds a bachelor’s degree from LIU/Post and Master of Science degree in physical education from Brooklyn College. He also has certifications in school district leader and school building leader from the College of Saint Rose.
