Every month, students in Mrs. Gurtner’s class at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School connect for an online lesson with kindergarten students in Dr. Pino’s class at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School. The high school students read a special book to the class and planned an activity that coincides with the book. Since Dr. Pino’s class is composed of bilingual learners, the high school students made the extra effort to also read to the class in Spanish.
