Seventh graders at Copiague Middle School are studying the American Revolution, with a recent focus on the Culper Spy Ring. On Feb. 16, the school hosted Claire Bellerjeau, author of “Remember Liss,” a book about a Long Island enslaved women who was a spy for the Washington Spy ring. She spoke to students about some of her research and how she pieced together parts of history for the creation of her book.
