On Oct. 12, the Copiague volunteer fire department visited Deauville Gardens East Elementary School to discuss fire safety. Students learned how important it is to practice fire drills at home and to have a safe meeting place in case of an emergency. The Copiague firefighters encouraged students to stay calm and remember this year’s theme: “Fire Won't Wait, Plan Your Escape!"
