Five students from Walter G. O’Connell Copiague School competed in the annual Poetry Out Loud competition. They were supported by teacher mentors and performed two poems of their choosing. The two school finalists will compete in regional semifinals in early February. This year’s winner is junior Mary Bridges and runner-up is sophomore Shawn Smaldon.
