The Green Team teachers are excited about our team programs which will serve as a bridge into the eighth grade curriculum. Our team consists of four teachers, each specializing in an academic discipline, sharing the same students who will work cooperatively to provide an enriched academic program for all students. The team meets regularly with the counselor and other learning specialists to address the needs of every child. Grouping will be flexible throughout the year in order to provide optimum learning experiences. Our program will encourage a rigorous intellectual challenge, personal responsibility, a spirit of helpfulness, and acceptance of others. We hope our approach will build pride and spirit, increase self-esteem, and provide an exciting year for your child. The teachers of the 7th grade purple team would like to welcome you to another exciting year. As a team, we strive to provide an environment in which all students can learn the skills necessary to become caring, creative and productive individuals. It is our goal to maintain a nurturing atmosphere which promotes learning as a lifelong process and enables each child to be an educated, confident, self- directed, positive member of an ever-changing global society. We are a team that is dedicated to achieving high standards of academic excellence for all of our students. Through high quality standards-driven instruction and a nurturing environment, we will develop in our students the degree of proficiency that is necessary to succeed in the upcoming assessment tests. We are focused on empowering all students with the knowledge that will enable them to further their educational goals and become active, responsible, and positive contributing members of society. Our dedicated team of teachers, extend their sincerest greetings to all of you. Our team has the honor of teaching some of Copiague, Amityville, and Lindenhurst's most enthusiastic youngsters. This year we are welcoming the challenge provided by the seventh grade ELA and Math Assessments. We will do our best to help our children reach their highest potential. To this end we ask for your full support and cooperation. We can only meet with success if we all stand strong together. We will be in constant communication with our students' parents and guardians through phone calls, progress reports, and team meetings. If you have any concerns and would like to meet us, you can reach us at the school. The number is 842-4011. You can also schedule an appointment through your child's guidance counselor to meet with us any day from 9:00-9:30. Furthermore, you can keep track of your child's assignments, tests, and upcoming projects by looking at our e-boards. A child who is fully supported at home and at school will undoubtedly succeed in his or her academic career. We should never settle for anything less than this.
