As part of the district’s ongoing efforts to engage its students in social-emotional learning, Susan E. Wiley Elementary School held an interactive assembly for all its students on Sept. 19. Titled “Don’t get mad, get RAD,” the assembly was hosted by storyteller and musician Rick Huddle. Using games, humorous stories and songs, the presentation taught students how to identify emotions and be better communicators. The goal was to show the students how to respond to their emotions, instead of reacting to them.
