Copiague School District has named William Bennett as the new athletic director, effective July 1. He will replace Peter Cesare, who announced his retirement in April. 

Mr. Bennett has been a physical education teacher in the Copiague School District since 2006. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education/teacher education from Adelphi University and a master’s degree in health education from Adelphi University. Mr. Bennett also holds a certificate in educational leadership.

Mr. Bennett has served as a coach for both baseball and football in for the Copiague School District since 2006 and in his current role as the head coach of the varsity baseball team since 2013.
