Each month, Deauville Gardens East Elementary focuses on a new character trait. October’s trait was responsibility, and students wore orange as a symbol of their unity to be responsible on Oct. 28.

Dawn Masure’s third-grade class performed the play “Responsibility Makes Your Wishes Come True.” The play is about a girl who was unhappy with her report card. A genie appeared to grant her a wish for a better report card and gave her all the tools she would need to be more responsible: a clock to get to school on time; soap and towels to have a clean mind; strength to put in the work; and an agenda book to keep herself organized. The class also read poetry and sang a responsibility song.
