During art class with Ms. Embleton, students at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School celebrated Black History Month by learning about two different artists – Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jessie Raulet. Basquiat is the founder of Neo-Expressionism, which is art that comes directly from feelings and life experiences. Raulet, also known as Etta Vee, is a social media influencer who created her own brand that features her colorful, bright and happy paintings. Students designed their own artwork based off one of these styles.
