Copiague athletic department recently unveiled its upgraded fitness center at Walter G. O’Connell High School. “We have made significant changes to our high school fitness center that will benefit the health and performance of our student-athletes for years to come,” said William Bennett, director of physical education and athletics. “Improving our athletic facilities has been a priority of ours, and this has been one very exciting step in that process.” The new state-of-the-art equipment will allow students to exercise in a safe and healthy environment. Most of the equipment features the school’s colors or has been branded with the eagle logo. “It is very important that our students get a sense of pride when they walk into that room,” Mr. Bennett added. “To date, the reaction from our students has been extremely positive and appreciative.”
