The students in Ms. Mullins’ class at Great Neck Road Elementary School showed off their scientific expertise during a chemistry experiment on Jan. 5. The class has been studying climate and natural disasters as part of their science curriculum. Working in small groups, the students were given different mystery powders and liquids to record their properties including color, texture, and smell and the viscosity of the liquids. The students then combined the liquids and powders to try to create a volcano out of a pumpkin.
