The wet weather didn’t dampen spirits for students and staff members in Copiague School District as they kicked off the 2022-2023 school year on Sept. 6.

Despite the soggy conditions, students were all smiles as they entered the buildings. With their backpacks filled to the brim, the kindergartners made their way into their classroom thanks to the guidance of the teachers and support staff, who helped them ease into their new environments. Older elementary students waved their goodbyes as they reconnected with friends and teachers to kick off the new school year.

Sixth and ninth grade students toured their buildings and received their schedules prior to the first day to make their first day transition a bit easier. Students across the district were eager to reconnect with their classmates and settle in for a productive year ahead.
