Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School welcomed its incoming ninth grade class and Copiague Middle School opened its door for its sixth graders during their respective orientation days on Aug. 31.

At Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School, the incoming freshmen and their parents began the afternoon with a presentation from Principal Joseph Agosta and graduation guidelines by director of guidance Sabrina Meehan. Chairs of each department also delivered information to the students during the session. Following the presentations, the soon-to-be freshmen met with their student ambassadors for tours of the building and a chance to test out their lockers.

Copiague Middle School’s sixth grade class also explored their new buildings, tested their lockers, and met with some of their teachers during their orientation. Students also reconnected with their classmates and walked through their schedules prior to the first day of classes.
