This summer, the district is running a variety of camps for its middle school students to help teach them new skills, learn a new craft or just connect with their peers during the summertime. The summer camp program, housed at Copiague Middle School, offers 15 different camps from which to choose.

More than 400 students are enrolled in one or more of the camps. SpringBoard Incubators is running a coding camp for the fifth graders for two hours per day for one week. There’s an art camp, where students are currently working on cartoons, comic books and coloring with oil pastels. During the hero’s journey camp, students are connecting cinematic characters to literature. There’s a dance and choreography class, as well a drama camp. Students have the opportunity to learn a unique instrument in the ukulele camp. During the mystery solvers camp, students work together to solve escape rooms and riddles.
