Elementary-aged students in the Copiague School District had the opportunity to participate in summer enrichment programs for a two-week period in July. Incoming first through six graders rotated through a variety of different activities throughout the two-week program. Approximately 360 Copiague students registered for the program, where they were provided transportation, as well as breakfast and lunch daily. Socialization and social-emotional learning were two of the main components infused into the program. Each day, the students rotated between two different activities for 90 minutes each. Some of the offerings included arts and crafts, sports, dance and movement and social-emotional learning. For example, there were team building activities, Zumba class, rock painting and friendship bracelet making.
