On June 15 and 16, Copiague School District’s four elementary schools all celebrated the fifth grade classes with moving up ceremonies. Deauville Gardens East, Deauville Gardens West, Great Neck Road and Susan E. Wiley elementary schools each held their own respective ceremonies to celebrate their school’s Class of 2022.

Invited guests cheered on the students as they marched into the tents, all dressed in their fifth grade class shirts. Guests and students were welcomed by their principals and assistant principals, who all offered words of advice as they start their new chapter at Copiague Middle School next year. The fifth grade teachers also took to the podium to impart their wisdom on their students.

One by one, each fifth grade student’s name was announced, met by applause from the audience. As they closed the chapter on their elementary school years, students looked ahead to their middle school years together.
