Elementary STEM Students Show Off Kite Creations

Fifth grade STEM students competed at the second annual “Kites Over Babylon” event at Cedar Beach on April 30, sponsored by the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce. Students teamed up with classmates to create their kites in class. The Eagles soared over the beach, winning in the most unusual kite and most creative kite categories. The teams also tied for overall second place in the competition. Copiague elementary student participants included Dean Coleman, Tyler Diffley, MacKensie Goodman, Keyrin Hernandez Burgos, Milana Johnson, Stan Krasnowski, Jhadari Mayers Pittman, Joseph Mendoza, Blake Merriweather, Rebecca Molina, Juliet Nohs, Emilio Reyes, Dennis Romero Maldonado, Nicolette Orlando and Isabella Rufrano.
