Robotics students in Mr. DiGiorgio’s class at Copiague Middle School in the Copiague School District are working on their building and design skills as part of the LEGO challenge.

During the half year class, the students build a robot to take on the FIRST LEGO League challenge. Using their building sets provided by LEGO, the robots must navigate through a course and complete a series of challenges. This year’s challenge, themed Cargo Connect, is sponsored by Amazon, and features a transportation-based theme. Students earn points as they complete each of the 20 different challenges on the map. For each challenge, students must modify the robots, program and reprogram the coding and problem solve to complete the different tasks.
