The fifth graders at Great Neck Road Elementary School celebrated Black History Month in February by conducting research on famous figures in black history. The students researched Ben Carson, Muhammad Ali, LL Cool J, Jackie Robinson and Aretha Franklin. The class collaborated to make a poster of one influential figure in black history including famous facts, family history and struggles they may have encountered. After the classes completed the posters, they were hung in the hallway where fifth graders walked through to learn about the different people. Date Added: 3/23/2022
